Delete my data

Effective from
8 August 2026
Last updated

Version
1.0

In short

  • You delete it yourself in the app: Settings → Account → Delete.
  • Export first if you want to keep your data — after deletion we can't retrieve anything.
  • Live data is gone within 30 days, backups within another 14.
  • Your subscription doesn't stop with it. Cancel that separately in the App Store or Google Play.

You have the right to have your data erased (Article 17 GDPR). Here you don't need to email anyone for it: it's in the app and it works immediately.

1. Deleting from the app

  1. 1.Open Mensis and go to Settings.
  2. 2.Tap Account, then Delete account.
  3. 3.We offer you an export first. If you want to keep your data, do it now — afterwards it's no longer possible.
  4. 4.Confirm. The app deletes your logs, your profile, your deen data and your conversations, signs you out and wipes the local copy on your device.

2. What exactly gets deleted

DataWhen it's gone
Your logs: period, flow, symptoms, notesImmediately from the live database, permanently within 30 days
Your profile and settingsImmediately, permanently within 30 days
Your deen data: thresholds, hayd history, qadaa counterImmediately, permanently within 30 days

Your authentication recordImmediately on deletion
The local copy on your deviceImmediately
BackupsOverwritten within 14 days of the deletion

3. Your subscription does not stop automatically

iPhone or iPad
Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Mensis → Cancel subscription
Android
Google Play → profile picture → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Mensis → Cancel

4. If you no longer have the app

If you already removed the app without deleting your account, reinstall it and sign in — your data is still there and you can still delete it. If that doesn't work, email privacy@mensishealth.com from the address linked to your account. We respond within 30 days.

We'll ask for enough information to establish that the account is yours. We won't ask for more than necessary, and what we receive for that check is kept no longer than the handling takes.

5. What does remain

  • Purchase records at Apple, Google and our subscription manager. We are not the controller for those; that data falls under their policies.
  • Invoices and bookkeeping, insofar as the Dutch 7-year tax retention obligation requires. Those contain no health or deen data.
  • Emails you sent to support, 2 years after the last contact — unless you ask us to delete them earlier.
